English: View north from Totnes Castle. The entrance to the Norman motte and bailey castle can be seen in the bottom foreground of the photograph with the "gate house" roof on the immediate left. The 14th century stone curtain wall curves away under the trees. (See 922231 for a brief history of the site.)
In this image you can see the houses on Castle Street (right foreground); the terraced housing in Belmont Terrace and Station Road (across the centre); Borough Park (right) and Weirfields Industrial Estate (left). The Dart valley stretches away in the distance shrouded in un-seasonal rain and mist. |
