Summary
DescriptionThe Old House in Hereford marketplace - geograph.org.uk - 1756234.jpg
English: The Old House in Hereford marketplace Another picture of this incredible survivor from the past, standing among today's High Street chainstores and coffeeshops in the centre of Hereford. Built in 1621 for a wealthy butcher (and were there ever any poor butchers in Hereford?), it passed through a succession of hands until it became a museum in 1929. The interior is furnished as a Jacobean home with all manner of domestic goods including four-poster beds, kitchen utensils, baby's walkers and a hole for the cat in the bedroom door. It's free to visit and there are no restrictions on touching nor custodians eyeing your every move. Thank you Hereford Council!
