Summary
DescriptionModern Art Oxford in Pembroke Street - geograph.org.uk - 1322398.jpg
English: Modern Art Oxford in Pembroke Street MAO, formerly MOMA, was founded in 1965 and is the largest gallery devoted to modern and contemporary art in South East of the UK. The pink facade shown here is part of the 2009 exhibition Transmission Interrupted: it is a mural called Guerra Colorida (Colourful War) by Ernesto Salmeron, using 'layers of colour and text painted over graffitied slogans used to quell political opposition in Nicaragua'.
In the left foreground is part of the Royal Blenheim pub on the corner with St Ebbes Street, and just beyond the gallery the rear entrance to Marks and Spencer in Queen Street.
