English: Interior view of the Solar Wing of Ludlow Castle, part of the castle's "North Range". The Solar Wing, which was built between 1283-92, is adjacent to the Great Hall (also part of the "North Range") and was used as a royal residence, accomodating, amongst others, the future Edward V. After Edward, then aged 13, was proclaimed king at Ludlow, he journeyed to London where, on orders of the future Richard III, he was imprisoned in The Tower and never seen again. The castle was abandoned in 1689 after which it fell into disrepair.
