Summary

Description
English: Looking up between the Railway Village museums, Swindon The house on the right has been restored to the condition it would have been in when first built and is now a small museum showing what everyday life would have like for a typical 19th century worker in the nearby GWR workshops. On the left is what once was the Railway Museum until the STEAM museum was opened in the conserved GWR factory to the north. It is now in use for community purposes. Of note in this image is the very tall chimney on the little house. It was built like this to overcome any downdraught from the adjacent, much taller building using engineering bricks for strength and stability.
