Summary

Description
English: Lodgehouse for Dumfries House Dumfries House was built between 1754-9 for William Dalrymple, 4th Earl of Dumfries by John, Robert and James Adam. It is now owned by the Marquess of Bute who has decided to sell it. There is concern that the unique collection of Chippendale furniture in the house might be dispersed unless the house it purchased by NTS.
