Summary

Description
English: Lincoln Castle, Lincoln This descriptive board lists the uses of the hall and goes on to mention that in 1831, two hundred ten inch diameter stone balls, called cobbs, were found within and that they were probably ammunition for large military weapons. Chillingly, it says that public executions took place from the roof of this hall and that between 1816 and 1859, 35 men and 3 women were hanged for offences ranging from murder to stealing sheep.
