Summary

Description

Detail - fasces above the Former Shire Hall, now Galleries of Justice Museum opened 1995. It was rebuilt in 1770 (Architect J. Gandon). It has 2 court rooms, and an underground gaol and a site for executions. The gaol was closed due to its appalling conditions and it lay empty from 1878 until 1995.
