English: Exeter: Cricklepit Mill 2 Pit wheel, upright shaft and wallower at work after a lull of half a century. The waterwheel and pit wheel turn at about five to six revolutions a minute [rpm]. The gearing, which includes a great spur wheel and stone nut, not seen here, translate that work into about 100 rpm at the millstones. Seen on an open day in July 2008 with tours organised by the owner, The Devon Wildlife Trust |
