Description
English: Military Road in the town centre of Chatham, Kent, England. Looking north east, the road climbing the hill in the distance is Whiffen's Avenue. On the left is the former Chatham Town Hall, built between 1898 and 1900. With the creation of Medway Council it became redundant, and is now The Brook Theatre (The Brook is the road running left to right infront of it). On the right is Churchills, a pub. At the top of the hill are the remnants of Fort Amherst, the Napoleonic Era defences of the nearby dockyard. Taxis are lined up on the rank to the right, while on the left is Nu-Venture bus T652 (reg. NUW 652Y) at the bus stop. Nu-Venture use on street stops as their town-centre terminii, rather than pay Arriva access charges for the Pentagon bus station, which is out of shot to the right (the access ramp is behind the orange wall).
