English: Black Arrow Test Site, West High Down. Britain's involvement in the space race. Here the engines for Black Knight, Black Arrow and Black Prince were tested in the 1960s. It resulted in Britain's X3 satellite being put into orbit from an Australian launch site in October 1971. There are two engine testing bays, one on the left and one on the right with the range safety position between them.
