Summary

Description
English: Aspen project A poly tunnel at the Highland Wildlife Park which is being used to propagate aspens [Populus tremula] from cuttings. Most aspen stands in Scotland are clonal - lots of adjacent trees genetically identical. When planting new material it is desirable to increase diversity by using material from several clones, rather than just one, which would be more vulnerable to particular pests or pathogens.
