English: Arboretum. The arboretum was intended to provide a distraction for working men away from drinking in public houses and more towards recreation with their families. It was designed by Edward Milner in 1868 and opened in 1872 on the site of the old Monk's Leys. This view looking SE after a light dusiting of snow. |
